Villager Gift Guide

Ten named villagers each track a hidden relationship meter you raise by giving gifts -- and each has real, individual preferences: some items are a favorite, some they can't stand. This page covers how the system works and what the community has documented so far about what each villager actually likes.

The gift preferences below come from Poofcakes' community NPC Gift Guide -- a live, player-submitted-and-voted database, reused here with Poofcakes' explicit permission. This snapshot was pulled 2026-08-26 (266 submitted preferences across all 10 villagers, out of roughly 1025 items in the game). Coverage varies a lot by villager and item -- most entries so far come from just one or two submitters. Entries shown as a dashed, lighter chip have 0-1 net votes on the source tool and are more likely to be wrong or still unconfirmed; solid chips have at least one net upvote beyond that. For the live, always-current version (and to submit or vote on one yourself), use the tool directly.

How the relationship system works

Give a villager an item they like and their relationship meter (10 hearts) moves; give them something they hate and it can move backward. You get a limited number of gift attempts per day (5, as a starting player -- this may scale with something not yet confirmed). Every item falls into one of six preference tiers, each worth a different number of points toward that meter:

Love+80 points
Like+30 points
Neutral+10 points
Dislike-15 points
Hate-30 points

Point scale per the official wiki's Villagers page. Confirmed as a real, client-rendered mechanic independent of the wiki: the in-game relationship HUD shows a 10-heart meter, a daily gifts-remaining counter, and gates certain emotes behind a minimum heart count with the villager.

Bond levels

Ten bond levels gate rewards (mail, unlocks) as your point total with a villager climbs, per the wiki:

The wiki documents specific mail rewards at each bond level for some villagers (Kmitty's reward table is the most complete), with real gaps even there ("data needed" at higher bonds for several NPCs). That level of detail isn't reproduced on this page yet -- what's confirmed here is the mechanic itself and the point/level thresholds, which apply to every villager the same way.
